We worked hard to select one of the most modern themes on the market that would allow itself to be customized, so that we could achieve the look desired by the customer. In addition we needed a theme that would easily integrate with an eCommerce solution, since this is after all a product which needs to be sold.
Eventually we picked the Nevia theme which we customized to the customer’s specs and integrated with WooCommerce, one of the world’s most popular eCommerce plugins for WordPress. We configured that to work with PayPal and later on later on with Mijreh, which is a credit card processing portal. We also helped BCI to obtain and install an SSL certificate, so that all transactions are totally secure. As a result the website was able to obtain and keep the GoDaddy “Verified and Secured” seal.
The customer’s flickR account was also linked to the site as a photo feed in the footer. Click on the image to the right to see a sample page, featuring the photo feed as well as the elegant pricing table.
WordPress initially started as a blogging platform, so it has the ability to let visitors leave comments built in. Nowadays there are automated bots trolling the internet posting spam messages to unsuspecting websites. This is a small but annoying problem, which we solved by integrating the Akismet automatic post moderation system, which has worked beautifully.
In order to prevent any data loss we put a reliable backup solution in place which regularly backs up the website’s file as well as its database.
