The Virtual Rehabilitation Conference Committee was back again for the 2013 conference website. Since the previous conference in 2011 we gained a lot of experience with WordPress and have been recommending it to all our clients. The committee really liked the many benefits it offers, so this year we implemented the website in WordPress and they loved it.
We also set up an instance of the OpenConf conference planning open source system, as we usually do. It allowed them to receive, review and accept abstracts electronically. The OpenConf system (PHP & MySQL based) was lightly modified by us to fit their workflow better. Click on the image to the right to see the OpenConf main page.
In addition, the Conference’s newsletter mail service provider went out of business recently, so we were able to set up a MailChimp account for them and import all their email lists successfully. We, of course, also integrated MailChimp with the new website, so that visitors can easily join the Virtual-Rehabilitation mailing list, in order to receive news on future and related conferences.
