(2013) International Society for Virtual Rehabilitation Website

(2013) International Society for Virtual Rehabilitation Website

http://www.isvr.org/ Established since January 2009, the society provides a multidisciplinary forum for engineers, scientists and clinicians who are interested in employing new technologies for physical, psychological, cognitive, and social rehabilitation applications. The purpose of the society is to facilitate interaction between the communities interested in the field in order to: promote discussion, facilitate standardization, create opportunities for collaboration, represent the virtual rehabilitation community and provide recognition for excellence. The 2009 Version We were initially contacted by the ISVR in 2009, when it was first established, to design and develop their first website (click on image to the right for more details). After our numerous successful projects with the Virtual Rehabilitation Conference Websites we were not surprised when we were selected for this project.  We worked with them to come up with a design they liked and then implemented it into DreamWeaver templates, which would allow committee members without extensive knowledge of HTML and web development to make updates without any possibility of “breaking” the design. Another benefit of using DreamWeaver templates is that they could use the much simpler Adobe Contribute to make the changes, rather than DreamWeaver, which can be intimidating for the inexperienced user.  The Society also needed a way for individuals to purchase memberships electronically. A custom web application was tailored for their needs, using HTML, CSS and JavaScript with a PHP and MySQL back-end. Upon registration, the user was presented with the opportunity to pay via PayPal or send in a check. They were also sent a confirmation email with instructions how to do the same at a later time.  The ISVR administrative interface was built with the capability...
(2012) Virtual-Rehabilitation 2013 Conference Site

(2012) Virtual-Rehabilitation 2013 Conference Site

http://www.virtual-rehab.org/2013/ The Virtual Rehabilitation Conference Committee was back again for the 2013 conference website. Since the previous conference in 2011 we gained a lot of experience with WordPress and have been recommending it to all our clients. The committee really liked the many benefits it offers, so this year we implemented the website in WordPress and they loved it. We also set up an instance of the OpenConf conference planning open source system, as we usually do. It allowed them to receive, review and accept abstracts electronically. The OpenConf system (PHP & MySQL based) was lightly modified by us to fit their workflow better. Click on the image to the right to see the OpenConf main page. In addition, the Conference’s newsletter mail service provider went out of business recently, so we were able to set up a MailChimp account for them and import all their email lists successfully. We, of course, also integrated MailChimp with the new website, so that visitors can easily join the Virtual-Rehabilitation mailing list, in order to receive news on future and related...
(2008) Virtual-Rehabilitation 2009 Conference Site

(2008) Virtual-Rehabilitation 2009 Conference Site

http://virtual-rehab.org/2009/ After our successful collaboration on the conference site last year, the Virtual Rehabilitation Conference Committee (previously IWVR) came to us with the request to set up this year’s conference site as well.  We used last year’s DreamWeaver templates to save time and money. DreamWeaver templates allow committee members without extensive knowledge of HTML and web development to make updates without any possibility of “breaking” the design. Another benefit of using DreamWeaver templates is that they could use the much simpler Adobe Contribute to make the changes, rather than DreamWeaver, which can be intimidating for the inexperienced user.  We also set up an instance of the OpenConf conference planning open source system, like last year, which allowed them to receive, review and accept abstracts electronically. The OpenConf system (PHP & MySQL based) was extensively modified by us to fit their workflow better.  They were very satisfied with the quality service we provide and we have been responsible for their conference websites ever...
(2008) Run-With-Rotary Website

(2008) Run-With-Rotary Website

http://www.runwithrotary.org/ After our previous success in collaborating on the Montgomery-Rocky Hill Rotary Website, they were back with another project – the Run-With-Rotary website. Run-With-Rotary is an annual fund-raising event organised by the Rotary Club. They wanted a fresh design which would be easy to update, like the club website. We worked with them to come up with a design they liked and then implemented it into DreamWeaver templates, which would allow club members without extensive knowledge of HTML and web development to make updates without any possibility of “breaking” the design. Another benefit of using DreamWeaver templates is that they could use the much simpler Adobe Contribute to make the changes, rather than DreamWeaver, which can be intimidating for the inexperienced user.  The event has many sponsors, some of which they wanted to feature on the website in the form of banners, which would appear at the bottom of the home page and would be randomly selected, however the overall number of views a banner gets had to be proportional to the amount donated. We wrote a clever PHP script which takes care of this and has been used ever since.  The site is still maintained by us and hosted on our...

(2008) Montgomery-Rocky Hill Rotary Club Website

http://www.montgomeryrotary.org/ Emad Abou-Sabe, the President (at the time) of the Montgomery-Rocky Hill Rotary Website, whom we had worked with before, decided it was time for the club to have presence in cyberspace, so he came to us for help. The site is still maintained by us and hosted on our...
