(2009) NJ Find-A-Ride Website

(2009) NJ Find-A-Ride Website

http://www.njfindaride.org/ The NJ Department of Human Service contacted our partners at ENTCHEV.COM with the request to design a website which would be Bobby Approved (AAA and 508) and would be easy to use by people with disabilities who need to plan a trip from one place to another using special services which deal with people with disabilities.  The project was subcontracted to us. The site was built with usability in mind, using a 3-tier architecture as required by the state and Bobby approved, so it could be easily access by text only web browsers, screen readers and people with low vision (hence the high-contrast color scheme).  The backend includes a relational database which stores all the service providers’ details. An access  portal for services providers was created, as well as one for administrators, who could moderate and update service record submissions. Complicated mapping and scheduling algorithms were written in order to extract the correct information from the database and present it to the user in an easy to understand format.  Update: The site has now been redesigned and now uses WordPress. We...

(2009) Western Monmouth Utilities Authority Website

http://www.wmuanj.org/ The Western Monmouth Utilities Authority contacted us with the request to convert their existing website to use DreamWeaver templates. DreamWeaver templates allow employees without extensive knowledge of HTML and web development to make updates without any possibility of “breaking” the design. Another benefit of using DreamWeaver templates is that they could use the much simpler Adobe Contribute to make the changes, rather than DreamWeaver, which can be intimidating for the inexperienced user.  The conversion was completed successfully and we provided training for the staff as well as a detailed instruction manual for future reference.  Update: The website’s design has since been...
(2008) Virtual-Rehabilitation 2009 Conference Site

(2008) Virtual-Rehabilitation 2009 Conference Site

http://virtual-rehab.org/2009/ After our successful collaboration on the conference site last year, the Virtual Rehabilitation Conference Committee (previously IWVR) came to us with the request to set up this year’s conference site as well.  We used last year’s DreamWeaver templates to save time and money. DreamWeaver templates allow committee members without extensive knowledge of HTML and web development to make updates without any possibility of “breaking” the design. Another benefit of using DreamWeaver templates is that they could use the much simpler Adobe Contribute to make the changes, rather than DreamWeaver, which can be intimidating for the inexperienced user.  We also set up an instance of the OpenConf conference planning open source system, like last year, which allowed them to receive, review and accept abstracts electronically. The OpenConf system (PHP & MySQL based) was extensively modified by us to fit their workflow better.  They were very satisfied with the quality service we provide and we have been responsible for their conference websites ever...
(2008) Run-With-Rotary Website

(2008) Run-With-Rotary Website

http://www.runwithrotary.org/ After our previous success in collaborating on the Montgomery-Rocky Hill Rotary Website, they were back with another project – the Run-With-Rotary website. Run-With-Rotary is an annual fund-raising event organised by the Rotary Club. They wanted a fresh design which would be easy to update, like the club website. We worked with them to come up with a design they liked and then implemented it into DreamWeaver templates, which would allow club members without extensive knowledge of HTML and web development to make updates without any possibility of “breaking” the design. Another benefit of using DreamWeaver templates is that they could use the much simpler Adobe Contribute to make the changes, rather than DreamWeaver, which can be intimidating for the inexperienced user.  The event has many sponsors, some of which they wanted to feature on the website in the form of banners, which would appear at the bottom of the home page and would be randomly selected, however the overall number of views a banner gets had to be proportional to the amount donated. We wrote a clever PHP script which takes care of this and has been used ever since.  The site is still maintained by us and hosted on our...

http://www.ti.rutgers.edu/ In an attempt to become compliant with the Rutgers Visual Identity policy, the Rutgers Tele-Rehabilitation Institute came to us with a general design approved by Rutgers and asked us to implement it and convert all their existing content to the new...
